02 HOW WE WORK

A closer look
at the work.

Here’s how we approach network setup,
recurring faults, and the support
your staff needs during a shift.

01
RESTAURANT INFRASTRUCTURE

Separate guest and business traffic.

A restaurant may have POS terminals, guest Wi-Fi, office computers, cameras, and music sharing one internet connection.

We check how everything connects, follow the POS provider’s setup requirements, and document the layout so future changes are easier to manage.

02
TROUBLESHOOTING

A printer that keeps dropping offline.

A printer can show a connection and still fail to receive tickets. Restarting it may get service moving, but a recurring fault needs a closer look.

We check power, connections, signal, and device settings. If the issue needs the vendor, we can help coordinate support and explain what’s already been checked.

03
STAFF SUPPORT

Instructions your staff can use.

An issue is harder to deal with when nobody knows which device to check or who to call.

We explain the problem, document changes, and leave clear instructions and support contacts for the next shift.

03 THE PERSON BEHIND SERVICE2SERVERS

Mike.

Founder, Service2Servers

Peachtree City, Georgia

MY BACKGROUND

IT support.
Restaurant management.
Hands-on networking.

I started in IT support.
Restaurant management came next.
Now I’m bringing the two together.

At a managed IT services provider, I helped people with Windows, hardware, software, and network problems. I later moved into restaurant management, where keeping things running meant looking after the people, the service, and the equipment everyone depended on.

Today, I’m the assistant general manager at a fine-dining steakhouse. Alongside restaurant operations, I’ve taken on network troubleshooting, POS connectivity, Wi-Fi, and coordinating with technology vendors. When something stops working during dinner, I understand what that means for the people trying to get through the shift.

I started Service2Servers to put that experience to work for other independent restaurants. The aim is straightforward: understand the problem, explain the work, and leave the setup easier to support.

SELECTED PROJECTS

What I’ve been working on.

RESTAURANT INFRASTRUCTURE

Making sense of an inherited network

Mapping the restaurant’s infrastructure, administering its firewall, working on Toast connectivity, and deploying UniFi wireless equipment. Documentation has been as much a part of the job as configuration.

HOME LAB · IN PROGRESS

A place to test and learn

Developing a home network and Proxmox lab for firewall, VLAN, and virtualization work, with a dedicated network edge separate from experimental systems.

HARDWARE · DESIGN PROJECT

A more serviceable firewall enclosure

A custom 2U rackmount concept combining PC hardware and 3D-printing design, with front-facing network ports and easier access for maintenance.

WHAT COMES NEXT

Building Service2Servers,
one project at a time.

I’m building this business alongside my restaurant career and continuing my networking studies. My goal is to move further into networking and infrastructure while developing useful, dependable support for local restaurants.

This site is where restaurant owners can see the help available, and where I can share the work behind it as the business grows.

BEFORE YOU GET IN TOUCH

Questions?

Is Service2Servers affiliated with Toast or UniFi?

No. Service2Servers is an independent business. Product names describe hands-on experience, not a partnership or certification. Payment and POS changes must follow your provider’s requirements.

Can you help if I’m not sure what’s wrong?

Yes. Tell us what stopped working, when it happens, and which devices are affected. We’ll discuss what to check first and agree on the work before getting started.

How do pricing and availability work?

The cost depends on your setup, the work involved, and whether an on-site visit is needed. Get in touch for availability and an estimate. Support is scheduled; 24/7 emergency coverage isn’t currently offered.

Do I need to share passwords to make an inquiry?

No. A brief description is enough to start. Don’t include passwords, payment information, remote access links, or sensitive network details in the inquiry.
